Motion Daily Test 2nd Semester 2014-2015

1. Agra runs around a circular track of radius 70 m. It takes him 140 s to complete a revolution of the track. If he runs at constant speed, calculate:

a. his speed,

b. his average velocity between points A and B,

c. his average speed during a revolution.

d. his average velocity during a revolution.

2. What is the final velocity of an apple if it falls from a 100m-tree?

3. If a car has a constant acceleration of 4 m/s2, starting from rest, how fast is it traveling after 5 seconds?

4. If a car has a constant acceleration of 4 m/s2, starting from rest, how far has it traveled by the time it reaches the speed of 40 m/s?

5. Aurelia is driving through town at 25.0 m/s and begins to accelerate at a constant rate of -1.0 m/s2. Eventually Aurelia comes to a complete stop. calculate the distance that Aurelia travels while decelerating.

Coulomb's Law Question

1. Charges are placed on the x axis as follows:
q1 = +2µC at x = 0, q2 = -3µC at x = 2m, q3 = -4µC at x = 3m, and q4 = +1µC at x = 3.5m. What is the magnitude and direction of the force on q3?

2. A charge q1 = + 4µC (1 µC = 10-6 C) is positioned at the origin. A charge q2 = + 9µC is positioned on the x axis at x = 4m. Where on the x axis can a negative charge q3 be placed so that the force on it is zero? Is there any position off the x axis where the force on q3 will be zero?
